Understanding Dyslexia

The term “specific learning disabilities” refers to an array of learning difficulties due to abnormal development of the brain, which usually results in significant problems in listening, speaking, reading and writing. The most common form of learning disability is “dyslexia” – a difficulty in word recognition, dictation, spelling, reading comprehension and written language processing. Some schoolchildren may also have difficulty in numerical processing.

The Government announced lately that all schools (including schools offering non-formal curriculum) will be allowed to arrange their students to return to campuses in accordance with the stipulated conditions and criteria.  In view that upper population limit has still been set for students returning to a school, Pathways Learning Centres (Kowloon/ Shatin) will take into account the requirements and actual circumstances to offer flexible teaching arrangements, professional therapy and assessment services.

We would review the class arrangement taking into account the latest situation, please visit our website (www.pathways.org.hk/?lang=en) for the latest updates.
