Understanding Dyslexia
The term “specific learning disabilities” refers to an array of learning difficulties due to abnormal development of the brain, which usually results in significant problems in listening, speaking, reading and writing. The most common form of learning disability is “dyslexia” – a difficulty in word recognition, dictation, spelling, reading comprehension and written language processing. Some schoolchildren may also have difficulty in numerical processing.
